Poso Springs Ranch is a 160-acre in-holding that is surrounded by thousands of acres of Rio Grande National Forest. The ranch is located about 20 miles west of US Highway 285 in the San Luis Valley, just outside of La Garita. Spring-fed Poso Creek meanders through the parcel, drawing numerous species of wildlife. There are miles and miles of Forest Service trails allowing hiking and ATV opportunities directly from the ranch. The parcel is perimeter fenced with bottomlands sub-irrigated by Poso Creek. The shed houses the water storage tank for the cabin and a 48-volt DC to 120-volt AC solar system, with the remaining space utilized for equipment and tools. In addition, the owner recently placed (3) newer metal storage containers. Water is provided by a State permitted developed spring along Poso Creek and has provided reliable water flows. With over 300 days of sunshine, the solar system provides adequate power to the cabin. Propane is utilized for the wall heaters and select light fixtures. This parcel is in Colorado Game Management Unit (GMU) 79, which provides over-the-counter archery Elk tags (either sex ? resident only). Muzzleloader and rifle season are on a draw basis for both Elk and Mule Deer.
